JANUARY 2012
As I write this, the sun is shining, there is snow on the ground and the temperature is well below zero. Not exactly baseball weather; however for the executive members of the Thamesford Minor Baseball Association (T.M.B.A.), the 2012 baseball season is underway. This year we are looking to have divisions from Tee-Ball to Junior. That’s right, yet another division! We are very excited about this possibility. Our association has certainly grown over the past few years. Registration dates are set and posted under the Registration tab. Full fee details are now posted. The registration forms will be posted the first part of February. Last season (2011) we had one team for each division (Tee-ball to Midget); we will be doing this again this year. This works best for our players, fans, coaches and executive. I encourage you to be sure and have these dates marked on your calendar. Last year we sadly turned people away since our rosters were filled. Please be advised that NO email or telephone registrations will be received; you MUST register, in person, on the scheduled dates. After these dates we will post, on our website, if space is still available. Before I close, I must tell you that the 2012 season will be my last as President. I have enjoyed watching our association grow and our players and fans enjoy the great game of baseball. However, it is now time for new people and new ideas. I know too that Kerry Therkildsen, who is responsible for our Diamond Café will also be leaving the executive. So, there are already two positions which need to be filled and there could be others by the end of this season. It’s time to build for the future! Our association depends on hardworking volunteers; our community thrives upon it! No experience is necessary, just a willingness to be part of dedicated team who want baseball to flourish in our community. Without those volunteers, there will be no game. Please think about it. If you have any questions, send us an email. Keep checking our website for baseball clinics and other updates! Spring IS coming, or so Stitches-the-Ball tells me. In the Game, Sandy Baigent
